Christmas Morning

I figured since it is the last day of February, it's a good time to finish up with Christmas pictures.

We don't have stairs in this house to have all the kids sit on for our Christmas picture, so against the wall it was!

Clarissa's gift from Santa. She had been asking for this game for months, and then the week before she changed to wanting a Diego Video Game. We just told her Santa knows best, and she was still very excited when she opened her game, and loves playing it.

We found these slippers for Clayton, and thought they were so fun. They love Dinosaur Train, and these are Tyranosaurus Rex slippers. It's fun to watch him pretend to be a dinosaur in them.

Enoying her new toy! It was a lot of fun that Sarah was so involved in her first Christmas. She loved unwrapping the presents, of course, and enjoyed making a mess with the wrapping paper.

One of the biggest highlights seemed to be the stockings, to see what kind of treats and small box of sugared cereal (a tradition from my family) that they got.

We had a fun Christmas, and enjoyed celebrating the birth of Christ. Our favorite tradition that we do, which I don't think I took any pictures of, is celebrating advent. The four Sundays before Christmas we have a special message, light our advent wreath, and have a special treat. Clarissa, especially, loves this, and looks forward to it for the several weeks in November, even before it starts. Actually, this year she started talking about it back in August when we first moved in, and invited our upstairs neighbors to come over for one of the times. I am so happy that one of Clarissa's very favorite Christmas tradtions revolves around Christ and not the presents, (but she still loves those too of course!)

Christmas Eve Pictures

I was looking through pictures today with the kids, and found our Christmas ones, so I thought I would start with sharing a few of Christmas Eve.

We spent Christmas this year in Boston with just our family. It's been fun to create our own traditions.

Christmas Eve dinner, by candlelight. Clarissa insisted on getting dressed up, the rest of us stayed in our comfy clothes.

The stockings hung by the chimney with care!
It's so fun to have a fireplace, especially on Christmas, even if we can't have a real fire.

Pictures from our Nativity reinactment. Mary and Joseph heading to Bethlehem on the donkey.

Mary and Joseph with the baby Jesus. It's so weird to think that this was Sarah's first Christmas, since she turned one the next week. It was fun to have her so involved with her first Christmas.

On Christmas Eve we get to open one present, and it's always pajamas. This year I made the girls matching nightgowns, and Clayton his pajama pants, not the shirt.

Clarissa loves having a matching nightgown with Sarah, and Clayton loved his ball pajama pants. It's been a fun tradition to get new pajamas. I enjoy making them, but it is a little stressful, so that may not happen every year.

Creative Clayton

Early morning fun with a sheet of stickers!

He is sitting on my lap now as I post this and said "me pretending to be Mickey Mouse in my jamas!" Not sure what he means, but he's cute anyway!
