Let's Go Fly a Kite

Quinn got home last Thursday night from a conference in New Orleans. We are so happy he is home. He brought Clarissa a kite, and on Friday night we went out and flew it.

You can't really tell, but I was helping Clayton fly the kite too.

Quinn finally got Clarissa to hold onto the kite by herself. Before I got out there, I guess she let it go and it went in the little stream that was nearby. The wind was actually pretty strong, a perfect night for flying a kite.

Clayton loved being outside, he is such a content baby to just sit and watch what is going on.

Easter Pictures

I know it's late, but I still wanted to post some Easter pictures.

On Saturday's we do our baskets and egg hunts. This year we did a jelly bean hunt whne Clarissa first woke up. She had fun finding her basket and a bunch of jelly beans all over the house.

Clarissa helping Clayton find his basket.

Since Clayton doesn't eat candy, the Easter Bunny broght him a toy to eat, as you can see he dug right in.

We went over to a friend's house for lunch, dyeing easter eggs, and an egg hunt. We had a ton of fun, thanks Joe, Ashley, and Spencer.

I Want My Daddy!

Quinn has been out of town for a conference, and we are really missing him. I have heard this phrase several times this week "I want my daddy". Honey, I know the kids really miss you, we are excited to see you soon.

As I was looking for pictures to post, I realized that we only had 1 of just Quinn and Clayton. I need to start taking more of them together.

More Doctor Pictures

I know I already posted about Clarissa being a doctor, but I thought these pictures were too cute to pass up. Clarissa's friend Katy came over to play and brought her doctor kit. They had fun dressing up, and taking turns being the doctor and the patient.

They took such good care of each other.

Even Clayton got a turn.

Easter Cakes

Last Friday we decorated Easter basket cakes with my friend KayLyn. One of my other friends was going to come, but last minute, she was unable to join us. Since I had already baked 3 cakes, we decorated them all.

Clarissa loved helping frost the cake, so I let her decorate her own cupcake. Her favorite part of the activity was eating the candy and frosting.

These are the 3 cakes, they all have green and purple icing, but all decorated differently.

For some reason this picture flipped back, but I still wanted to post it. Clarissa loved the cake, but of course, kept trying to pick it up by the handle.

It had been a while since I had decorated a cake, so it was a lot of fun to do, especially with a friend. Thanks KayLyn for making it a fun morning. However, part of the cake is still sitting in our fridge. Quinn and I have discovered that we aren't big cake eaters, unless it's a really yummy special type of cake. Just a plain cake and frosting isn't all that enticing to us. Which is really ironic since I love decorating cakes. I guess I just need to decorate them for other people.

Easter Skirt

I wanted to make an Easter dress for Clarissa this year, but it was too much work. My sister-in-law had this skirt pattern posted on her blog, so I took advantage of it. It was really easy to sew.

I got Clarissa all ready Sunday morning, except for her shoes, and she came down wearing her monkey slippers. She sure knows how to accessorize!!!

Unfortunately these are the only two pictures we took. We were in a hurry to get to our Stake Conference on time, we had to drive 30 minutes to get to the one we were going to. Quinn was asked to conduct at a branch. Next time she wears it, I will definitely get some better pictures. She liked her hat except that the wind kept blowing it off and it was making her mad.

UUUGGGHHH!!!!

This morning I accidentally put juice on Clarissa's cereal instead of in her cup.  I hope this isn't any indication as to what the rest of the day is going to be like!!!

Clarissa still wanted to eat it, but I insisted on making a new bowl with MILK on it!

Playing Together

I love Clayton's face in this picture. It looks like he's trying to say "hey, what's Clarissa doing?"

99 in the bed...

...and the middle one said roll over!

So, maybe there aren't 99 of us, but with the picture below, that's almost 400 pounds on a toddler bed. I'm sure they aren't made to hold that much weight. Granted, we don't all sleep with Clarissa, but we did decide it was time for a new bed.

At night sometimes, Clarissa likes one of us to lay down by her. You can easily tell that it's a tight fit for Quinn, his legs always hung over the edge.

On Saturday Clarissa and Quinn took apart her old bed. Clarissa had so much fun helping Daddy use his tools. It was cute to watch them work together. Clarissa was a great helper, and Quinn was a very patient dad.

I could tell they were having a great time, especially since they were listening to some music of Quinn's. Some songs that he had taped off the radio when he was in highschool.

So far this is the only picture I have taken of her on her new bed. I now need to make or buy a bedspread for it. She absolutely loves her new bed, and has done great sleeping on it.

No time for playing

Me: Clarissa, do you want to go downstairs and play?

Clarissa: No Mom, I'm just working on some emails.

Clayton's News

Clayton is now 5 months old, I can't believe how fast time flies. Clayton rolled over for the first time last Saturday, from his back to his tummy, and has been perfecting it all week long. He now prefers to sleep on his tummy, either that, or he rolls over and gets stuck. He did roll over all the way once this week, but I think he still has some work to do on that.
